Rooted in culture. Focused on the future.

Who We Are

Fagogo Legacy is a community-driven nonprofit dedicated to supporting Pacific Islander youth through culturally grounded education, mentorship, and leadership development.

We were founded on the belief that students succeed when they are both academically supported and culturally affirmed. Our work centers the lived experiences of Pacific Islander communities while creating pathways for long-term success in education and beyond.

Why We Exist

Pacific Islander students often navigate systems that were not designed with their cultural identities in mind. Too often, they are asked to choose between academic success and cultural connection.

Fagogo Legacy exists to change that.

We create spaces where students do not have to separate who they are from how they learn. By integrating cultural knowledge, storytelling, and community values into our programming, we support students in developing both confidence and academic success.

What Makes Us Different

Our approach combines cultural engagement with structured academic accountability.

Through programs like the La’u Samoa Academic and Cultural Competition, students are recognized not only for their performance on stage, but also for their commitment to their education. Academic achievement, attendance, and discipline are integrated into how we define excellence.

We do not treat culture and education as separate. We build systems where both are essential.

Our Approach

We focus on three core areas:

Academic Development
We support students through GPA tracking, progress monitoring, and structured accountability systems that reinforce success in school.

Cultural Connection
Our programs incorporate storytelling, performance, and cultural education to strengthen identity and belonging.

Mentorship and Leadership
Students are guided by mentors and community leaders who model responsibility, cultural pride, and long-term vision.

Our Vision

We envision a future where Pacific Islander youth are fully supported in both their cultural identity and academic journeys.

Our goal is to build sustainable programs, partnerships with schools and communities, and systems that ensure students have access to opportunities that honor who they are and where they come from.
